The design combination of bureau SLA, Inbo, Overtreders W, Woonpioniers and Boom Landscape has has won the tender for the cultural heart of the Berlijnplein Utrecht Leidsche Rijn. The winning plan focuses on the realization of circular cross-disciplinary buildings. This takes shape in a process of co-creation. United in the new Bureau Berlijnplein, the designers devised a strategy that delivers these aims.
Today the municipality and the consortium signed the cooperation agreement. The consortium, the Pleinmakers, led by Vink Bouw is ultimately responsible for the construction and management of the buildings and the outdoor areas. The municipality of Utrecht is investing 45.2 million euros in the cultural heart of Berlijnplein. Berlijnplein is an initiative of the municipality of Utrecht, in collaboration with Raum Utrecht, de Plaatsmakers, Kanaal30 and the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.
